About me

  • I am a painter and installation artist living in Chicago, Illinois.

My work can often be described as fairy tale settings in which complex narratives are revealed within a context of dreamlike prettiness. The disturbance to the serenity animates the setting and breathes new life into the space, highlighting the tension between the artificial and the real.

I draw on imagery from numerous art historical references as well as scenes from contemporary life, and I intentionally use images that speak across time and space.

While I am primarily a painter, I also create three dimensional installations in which imagery from my paintings are recreated in sculptural form. This allows the viewer to enter directly into the narrative and interact with the work in a more participatory fashion.
